Obert is built on a legacy of women pushing boundaries. After years of working in men's clothing, co-founder Katherine Boniface grew frustrated with so-called "unisex" fits designed for men and the exclusivity of hyper-masculine brands in the industry. Recognizing the lack of properly fitting workwear for women—and the safety risks posed by ill-fitting gear—she partnered with co-founder Jessi Dunne to create a better solution. Together, they set out to provide women with safer, better-fitting work apparel and challenge the long-standing male dominance in the workwear industry.

obert / oh - bert / (noun)

Obert pays tribute to our founder’s grandmother, Erika Obert. Erika immigrated to the U.S. after losing her father in WWII and built a life as a single mother. She came from a long line of strong women, and passed grit and determination onto her daughter and her granddaughters. Obert honors women like Erika. Obert honors you.

On our own terms.

We are working to build safer work environments for women, moving beyond the legacy of heritage brands where women are an afterthought. Obert allows women to embrace their careers, their life, and their safety, on their own terms.
