Behind the name
Florence Bascom didn't just study rocks—she shattered glass ceilings. She was the first woman to earn a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1893.
She single-handedly opened the field of geology to women and founded the Bryn Mawr College Geology department in 1895. Known as "the Stone Lady" for her groundbreaking fieldwork, she proved that determination and expertise could literally move mountains.
Why we made this
We wanted a boot that worked as hard as you do, polished enough for the office, comfortable enough for long days, and versatile enough for everything in between.
